How to Make No Bake Chocolate Oat Bars
Step 1: Prepare the Pan
Lightly grease a 9×9-inch square pan or line it with parchment paper.
This will make removing and slicing the bars much easier once they’ve set.
Step 2: Make the Oat Mixture
In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Stir in the brown sugar and vanilla
extract until well combined. Add the oats and reduce heat to low. Cook for 2–3 minutes,
stirring constantly, until everything is evenly mixed.
Step 3: Form the Base
Press half of the oat mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared pan,
creating an even base layer. Set the remaining oat mixture aside for the topping.
Step 4: Make the Chocolate Layer
In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the chocolate chips and peanut butter together,
stirring frequently until smooth and glossy. Remove from heat immediately once melted.
Step 5: Assemble the Bars
Pour the chocolate–peanut butter mixture evenly over the oat base. Use a spatula or the back
of a spoon to spread it into a smooth layer.
Step 6: Add the Topping
Crumble the remaining oat mixture over the chocolate layer, gently pressing it down so it
adheres without fully covering the chocolate.
Step 7: Chill and Serve
Cover the pan and refrigerate for 2–3 hours, or until fully set.
For best results, let the bars sit at room temperature for a few minutes before slicing.
Tips & Variations
- Use dark chocolate chips for a richer flavor.
- Swap peanut butter for almond or sunflower butter if desired.
- Add a pinch of salt to the chocolate layer for a sweet-salty twist.
- Store bars in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
