Ooey Gooey Bars

Ingredients
For the Crust:
- 1 box yellow cake mix (dry, not prepared)
- 8 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 egg
For the Gooey Layer:
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 16 oz powdered sugar
How to Make Ooey Gooey Bars

Preheat the Oven:
Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking pan. You may also line it with
parchment paper for easier removal. -
Prepare the Crust:
In a medium mixing bowl, combine the dry yellow cake mix, melted butter, and the egg.
Stir until the mixture forms a smooth, thick dough. -
Form the Base:
Press the dough evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking pan, ensuring it reaches all edges and
forms a level crust. -
Make the Gooey Filling:
In a separate large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth and creamy. Add the beaten eggs
and continue mixing for 1–2 minutes. Gradually add the powdered sugar and mix until fully incorporated
and silky. -
Assemble:
Pour the gooey cream cheese mixture over the crust and spread it evenly with a spatula. -
Bake:
Bake in the preheated oven for 25–30 minutes, or until the top is lightly golden but still soft.
Do not over-bake — the center should remain gooey! -
Cool Completely:
Remove from the oven and allow the bars to cool fully in the pan before slicing. This step ensures
