Minced garlic 2 tsp
Olive oil 2 Tbsp
Hot water 2/3 cup
Beef bouillon cube 1
Cornstarch 1 Tbsp
Chopped onion 1 cup
Soy sauce 3 Tbsp
Brown sugar 1 tsp
Diced tomatoes 1 can
Worcestershire sauce 2 tsp
Black pepper To taste
Bell peppers, sliced (any color) 2

Instructions

Step 1: Brown the Steak

Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sirloin steak strips and minced garlic.
Cook until the steak is browned on all sides, then transfer into your slow cooker.

Step 2: Prepare the Sauce Base

In a bowl, dissolve the beef bouillon cube in 2/3 cup of hot water. Whisk in the cornstarch until smooth.
Pour the mixture over the steak in the slow cooker.

Step 3: Add Remaining Ingredients

Add chopped onions, soy sauce, brown sugar, diced tomatoes, Worcestershire sauce, and black pepper. Stir gently to combine the flavors.

Step 4: Slow Cook

Cover and cook on Low for 6 to 7 hours or on High for 3 to 4 hours, until the steak becomes tender and the sauce thickens naturally as it cooks.

Step 5: Add Bell Peppers

About 1 hour before serving, add the sliced bell peppers. Allow them to soften but still remain slightly crisp for the perfect texture.

Serve this classic pepper steak over steamed white rice, egg noodles, or mashed potatoes.
